Margarita

Tequila, lime, triple sec, and a salt rim: the Mexican classic, dry and vibrant.

Ingredients

  • 5 cl blanco tequila
  • 3 cl triple sec
  • 3 cl lime
  • pour le bord fine salt
  • a shaker full ice cubes

Method

  1. Rub a lime wedge over half the rim of a glass, then dip that rim into a saucer of salt.
  2. Squeeze the limes: you need freshly squeezed juice, never from a bottle.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, pour in the tequila, triple sec, and juice.
  4. Shake hard for about ten seconds, until the shaker is painfully cold.
  5. Strain into the glass, with or without fresh ice depending on your preference.
  6. Garnish with a lime wheel on the unsalted rim.
