Espresso martini

Vodka, fresh espresso, and coffee liqueur, shaken to a perfect foam.

Ingredients

  • 4 cl vodka
  • 2 cl coffee liqueur
  • 4 cl espresso
  • 0.5 cl cane sugar syrup
  • 3 pieces coffee beans
  • a shaker full ice cubes

Method

  1. Place your coupe in the freezer and pull the espresso last: it must be fresh, its crema makes the foam.
  2. Pour the vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso, and optional syrup into the shaker.
  3. Fill with ice cubes and shake VERY hard for about fifteen seconds: the shake is what builds the foam.
  4. Let the shaker rest for five seconds.
  5. Double-strain into the chilled coupe, pouring straight into the center.
  6. Gently float the coffee beans on the foam.
