Siam lime fizz

A refreshing Thai mocktail combining the fizz of ginger beer, the tartness of lime, and a sweet touch of grenadine, enhanced with a pinch of salt and garnished with crispy lime chips.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces lime
  • 200 ml ginger beer
  • 100 ml club soda
  • 30 ml grenadine
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 10 g sugar

Method

  1. Prepare the dehydrated lime chips according to the prepared component. Let cool.
  2. Squeeze the juice of the second lime to get about 30 ml of juice. Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix a pinch of salt and the remaining sugar (about 5 g) for the rim of the glass.
  4. Rub the rim of two glasses with a fresh lime slice (from the squeezed lime). Dip the rim into the salt-sugar mixture to form a thin crust.
  5. Pour 15 ml of grenadine and 15 ml of lime juice into each glass. Add a pinch of salt (optional, to enhance the salty note).
  6. Fill the glasses with ice cubes (about halfway up).
  7. Pour 100 ml of ginger beer into each glass, then top with 50 ml of club soda. Stir gently with a tall spoon.
  8. Garnish each glass with a dehydrated lime chip (resting on the rim or floating) and a fresh lime slice if desired. Serve immediately.
